Biography:
Wang Yuan is the head of training and education at China Development Bank in Beijing. A former advisor at the China Policy, Securities and Futures Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Ms. Wang began her career as a foreign trade officer for the Export & Import Company of Shanxi Province. From 1978 to 1990, she worked with the Central Institute of Finance and Banking and from 1990 to 1994 with The World Bank Mission in China. After heading the Foreign Financial Institution Department of the People's Bank of China from 1995 to 1997, Ms. Wang served as deputy director of the People's Bank of China's International Department, and of the International Department of the China Development Bank. She received her B.A. in English literature from Shanxi University; M.Sc. in national development and planning from Bradford University, UK; and M.B.A. from the China-Europe Business School in Shanghai. She served on the faculty of Salzburg Seminar, Session 423, China and the Global Economy, 2004, and is accompanied by her husband, Li Xiaoping.
