Biography:
Harriet Strimpel is chief intellectual property counsel at New England Biolabs, Inc. Before joining Biolabs in 2002 she served as special counsel at Bromberg & Sunstein LLP, Boston where she worked in all phases of domestic and foreign patent prosecution for a wide range of scientific and technological enterprises. She also consulted services for the venture community and for enterprises in biotechnology, environment and agriculture while working for HMS Biosciences, Manchester, MA, for more than ten years. Prior to joining HMS Biosciences she worked as a scientist for Biogen, Inc., where she developed methods of scale up for production of pharmaceutical proteins from animal cells. Dr. Strimpel holds a B.Sc. (hons.) in microbiology from Bristol University, a Ph.D. from Oxford University, and a J.D. from Suffolk University.
