Biography:
Amédée Turner is Queen’s Counsel specializing in intellectual and industrial property law. He is an advisor to the European Commission on industrial and intellectual property issues and to the Russian Patent and Trade Mark Office. He is the former chief whip of the Conservative MEPs; Chairman of the Civil Liberties Committee of the European Parliament; and has been the rapporteur for 40 parliamentary reports on all aspects of European legislation, European technology policy, development policy, international crime and Europol. He was appointed an honorary MEP in 1994. Dr. Turner practiced at the London Patent Bar from 1954 to 1979 (New York 1957-60); is the author of ‘The law of Trade Secrets’ and ‘The New European Patent Law’. He is accompanied by his wife, Debby TURNER.
