Biography:
John Vaughn is the executive vice president of the Association of American Universities, which consists of sixty U.S. and two Canadian universities with strong programs of research and graduate and professional education. He has specific responsibility for association activities in the areas of intellectual property, information technology, research libraries and scholarly communication, and has led the university association engagement in the U.S. Congressional effort to reform U.S. patent law. Dr. Vaughn received a B.A. from Eastern Washington State College and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the University of Minnesota. From 1977 to 1979 he served as a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University.
