Fan Shiming is an associate professor and assistant dean at the School of International Studies at Beijing University, where he teaches Sino-American relations and the politics of international communication. Dr. Fan was a visiting fellow at the Fairbank Center for East Asian Studies at Harvard University and a visiting professor at Niigata University of Japan. His research interests include image, perception, public opinion and communication in international relations. Dr. Fan received a B.A., an M.A. and a Ph.D. in international politics from Beijing University.
