Javier Gil Perez is currently a visiting fellow in the Asia Research Center at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also a professor in the Institute General Gutierrez Mellado in Madrid, where he teaches security affairs in Asia. He has been a research associate at the Center for the Prevention of Terrorism and Political Violence in Singapore and also a visiting fellow in the Center of Strategic and International Studies in Jakarta. He has recently completed a research project for Asia House on the South Asian community in Spain. He published a book on Indonesian current political affairs and is currently working on another book devoted to Indonesia's Foreign Policy towards Middle East. He holds a B.A. in politics and international relations and a Ph.D. in peace and security from the University of UNED in Madrid.
