Kurt Pribil is the chief executive officer of the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), a position he has held since coming to the organization in 2001. Dr. Pribil serves as the FMA representative on the Committee of European Securities Regulators. Before joining FMA, Dr. Pribil spent two years at the Austrian Central Bank in the Foreign Research Division. This was the second part of his tenure with the bank, having spent over five years there in the early 1980s. In the 1990s, Dr. Pribil served as an economic consultant to Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel when Schüssel was Minister of Economic Affairs and also when Schüssel became Vice Chancellor. Dr. Pribil received an M.B.A. in economics and business administration from Vienna University and a Ph.D. in business administration from Johannes Kepler University in Linz.
