Marvin Peterson is professor of higher education and former director of the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA. He has held positions at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research, National Center for Postsecondary Improvement and the Program in Higher and Continuing Education. He is former president of the Association for the Study of Higher Education and the Association for Institutional Research. Dr. Peterson has conducted research for projects funded by the United States Department of Education, the National Science Foundation, the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, and The Ford Foundation. He holds degrees from Trinity College, Harvard University, and the University of Michigan.
