The Development of the Regional Role and Contribution of Russian Universities in the Context of the Globalization of Higher Education

Biography:
Jan Sadlak is director of UNESCO’s European Centre for Higher Education (UNESCO-CEPES) in Bucharest, Romania. Prior to this appointment, he was chief of Section for Higher Education Policy and Reform in UNESCO, Paris, France. In more than twenty-five years of experience in the field of higher education, he held, among others, the position of executive secretary of the Association of European Universities (CRE) in Geneva, Switzerland, as well as various teaching and research positions in universities and research institutes in Poland and Canada. Dr. Sadlak holds a Ph.D. in educational administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA. He has published extensively on various policy issues in higher education and is a member of the Universities Project Advisory Committee.
