Michael Cox is professor of international relations in the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics. He is a member of the National Committee for the Study of International Affairs, Dublin; the Royal Irish Academy; and a research associate at Chatham House in London. Professor Cox is also editor of the journal International Relations, director of the David Davies Memorial Institute, an associate research fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, and editor of the Review of International Studies. He is a former professor of international relations at the University of Wales in Aberystwyth; was a senior fellow at the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo; and served as a visiting professor at San Diego State University in California, and The William and Mary College in Virginia. Professor Cox was educated at the University of Reading and the Institute of Soviet and East European Studies at the University of Glasgow.
